^_^Levinia's Growing Post!!!

Mr. Reece, I edited my post. Please check question number 3. I made some corrections (it's coloured in orange).
#1: What is meant by the terms "Rotation Symmetry" and "Reflection Symmetry"? How does this relate to pentominoes? Explain these terms so that anyone who reads your post understands what you mean.

rotation symmetry- If you rotate a figure around it is just identical so it doesn't make the shape or pentomino unique.
reflection symmetry
- a shape is symmetrical if both sides are the same when a mirror line is draw.

How rotation symmetry relates to pentominoes:
Rotating the pentomino makes it identical and it makes the pentomino not unique. No matter how you rotate the shape, the size and the shape will not change.

How reflection symmetry relates to pentominoes:
It makes a mirror image of the pentomino so the pentomino doesn't make it unique. The shape only flipped so it is still the same shape.

Question #2: Create a pattern. You must represent this pat
tern both pictorially (i.e. with a picture or diagram) and with numbers. You must show the first 4 steps of your pattern.

STEP 1___ STEP 2

STEP 3_____- _STEP 4

Question #3
: Describe in words what is occuring with your pattern and if your pattern has an ending or if it continues on indefinately. Make sure that your explanation is clear enough that the person reading your description could understand your pattern without seeing your diagram.

- The first shape was a capital E. For the first shape, the top of the capital letter E has three tiles, the middle of the letter E has 2 tiles. The bottom of the letter E has 3 tiles.

- If you add one more tiles to the top, middle, and at bottom of the letter E you'll have another shape but you are just changing the size. You add the tiles horizontally.

- For the next three shape. Just do the same thing, the only difference that it will make is the size. The shape will be the same but the size will get larger.
At the end (right) of every horizontal column for the letter E- at the top, middle and bottom row is where you have to add one tile so every shape adds 3 more tiles. My pattern has no ending. It continues on indefinately.

Question #4: Create a T-Chart that shows what is happening with your pattern. You must show the first 4 steps of your pattern with the T-chart.

THANK YOU!!!!!...^_^

Great job with your growing post. I really enjoyed your diagrams and description for rotation and reflection. My one question is does your pattern end or does it continue on indefinately?
