### Levinia's Growing Post #2!

Question #1: Solve all 3 parts of the problem belowJack collects baseball cards. Jack has 180 baseball cards in his collection. At the end of each month Jack buys 25 baseball cards to add to his collection.

a)Create a T-Chart showing how many baseball cards Jack has at the end of the next 4 months.

b)Create an algebraic formula based upon the problem above.

-180+ 25b

b- for baseball

c)If Jack just turned 8 years old this month and Jack continues to buy the same amount of baseball cards each month, howmany baseball cards will jack have when he turns 12?

180+25=

180+25(48)=

25 x 48= 1,200=

1,200+180=1380

Question #2: Use the chart to figure out the questions below.

Jackie is planning on having a pizza party with some of her friends. She is trying to figure out how many pizza’s to order. She knows that each pizza has six slices of pizza.

a)If Jackie thinks that there will be four people at the party (counting herself) how many

pizza’s should she order?

- Jackie should order 2 pizzas

- Each pizza has 6 slices of pizza in it so she needs 12 pieces of pizza.

- 12 pieces of pizza= 2 boxes of pizza

b)If two more people show up at the party how many more pizza’s does she need to order?

- Jackie needs 3 pizzas in total to order.

- 6 people= 18 slices of pizza

- 18 slices of pizza/ 3 boxes of pizzas in total= 6 people

Question #3: Answer the questions below based upon this information.

Kathy has $20 in her savings account. Each month she adds another $15 to her savings account. In order to calculate howmuch money she will have in one year Kathy has created this algebraic formula: 20 + 15n = Savings amount

a) Calculate how much money Kathy will have in one year.

20 + 15n(12)=

20+180= 200

Kathy's savings amount is $200

(12)- There are 12 months in a year*

b) Suppose Kathy counted wrong and she really has $25 in her account instead of $20. Change the algebraic formula to reflect this miscalculation.

- 25+15n= savings amount

25+15n=

25+15(12)=

15 x 12= 180

180 + 25= 205

wowers ! xP lol goooood joooooob .

It looks beautiful.

2 small points 2b. You are not ordering three MORE pizzas, you are ordering a total of 3 pizzas.

3a. Check how you are plugging the numbers into your expression. It doesn't seem right.

Make those corrections and this post will be going into the hall of fame!

Mr. Reece. I've corrected my mistakes. Would my diagram still make sense to my answer?(2b).

Great work Levenia, this post has been placed into the hall of fame.

Your grade is 18/17
