Scribe notes Feb/22/06

Mr. Reece talked about are blog. He talked about the scribe post and their importants in helping others in the class learning math. Mr. Reece also talked about things to help us about the post. We took a little bit of notes. We divide the measurment of the body post by our overall height. We participate in an activity like we measured our body parts. We had to be with partner's like Rina and I. We learned on how to measured in cm and how to measure are body parts. We calculate the formula on how we can get the other numbers. Are homework for today was the "body percents" .

Examples:

146 cm arm span
25 cm wrist to elbow
21.5 cm foot
15 cm hand
5.6 cm baby finger
53.4 cm head circumference
22 cm head length
38 cm shoulder width
67 cm shoulder to fingertip
46 cm waist to knee

If you forgot to do your homework you can visit Julie and Rina's scribe post. The scribe person for tommorow is "Stevan".

I gave a formula in class that allows you to calculate the ratio of each body part relative to your height. It is:
(Length of the body part / Height) * 100

That will allow you to calculate all of the different percentages.

Otherwise Cindy it was a great scribe post, thank you

Mr. R
