### Scribe Notes Feb/21/06

The first thing that we did today is we looked/compared our mystery object. Michael shared his mystery object with us and he measured the white board. We looked at another way to get the percentage for the measurement. We converted it to decimals. You have to divide the percentage by a hundred, then you'll get the same percentage.Example: 50% divided by 100 is 0.5

75% divided by 100 is 0.75

12.5% divided by 100 is 0.125

After that we measured our height in centimeters.

Example:

Height: 148

100% = 148

75% = 111

50% = 74

25% = 37

12.5% = 18.5

10% = 14.8

5% = 7.4

2.5% = 3.7

1% = 1.48

To get 50% you have to divide 148 by 2.

148 divided by 2 =

**74**

To get 75% you have to add the answer for 25% and 50%

74 + 37 =

**111**

To get 25% you have to divide the answer for 50% by 2

74 divided by 2 =

**37**

To get 12.5% you have to divide the answer for 25% by 2

37 divided by 2 =

**18.5**

To get 10% you have to divide your answer by 10

148 divided by 10 =

**14.8**

To get 5% you have to divide the answer for 10% by 2

14.8 divided by 2 =

**7.4**

To get 2.5% you have to divide the answer for 5% by 2

7.4 divided by 2 =

**3.7**

To get 1% you have to divide the original number by 100

148 divided by 100 =

**1.48**

That's all the things that we did today. Tomorrow's scribe is

**Cindy Jamoyot**=P
