Scribe Notes Feb/20/06

We started a project do to with percentages. We brainstormed what we knew about percentages. The examples we came up with are : Report Cards, Taxes, Graphs, and others as well. The next part we did was Mr.Reece gave us a length of an object and we had to figure out what it was. We knew that the object was 152 cm in length. Then we had to find out different percentages of this object's length. These were the percentages we learned how to figure out :

100% Measured Object
75% Add 50% measurement + 25% measurement =
50% Object divided by 2 =
37.5% Add 50% measurement divided by 2 =
25% Measurement divided by 2 =
12.5% 25% measurement divided by 2 =
10% Divided by 10
1% Divided by 100

The homework was you had to measure our own mystery object and then calculate all of the above percentages for this mystery object.
Tomorrow's scribe is JULIE.
